Whimsey-On-Why Village SetsWhimsey-On-Why Village Sets Beginning in 1980
Whimsey-On-Why is the name given to a mythical English village. The village is made up of a series of highly detailed and colorful porcelain houses and buildings so often found in the typical British village. Each charming building is detailed on all four sides with windows, doors, shrubbery and signs. Through an open window or door you can glimpse the interior of some....one can see the car in for repair at the garage....flowers for sale at the grocers...people lining up to see a show at the theater ... All buildings are mold marked on the base or in a recess on the base "WADE ENGLAND'.....however, the Windmill and Market Hall are not marked. Each building is identified with a small number enclosed in a small circle; usually located either on the back side or in a corner. Wade also issued a "showcard or a display card which illustrated the layout of the village and the surrounding roads....each building could be displayed on the card in its appropriate location. Sets one and two are pictured on the "showcard" as shown in the two pictures below: Please see price list for prices of village pieces and showcard.
